Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, April 10, 2026

The Nigerian naira remained stable against the United States dollar in early trading on Friday, April 10, 2026, across both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.

At the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the naira opened at about N1,361.75 per dollar, reflecting continued efforts by the Central Bank of Nigeria to control liquidity and curb volatility in the official market. Early trading data showed slight movements, with the currency briefly strengthening to N1,360.75 before settling again at N1,361.75.

In the parallel market, also known as the black market, the naira traded at a slightly weaker rate than the official window. Bureau De Change operators in Lagos and Abuja reported that the dollar was exchanged between N1,450 and N1,470, depending on transaction volume and location.

The gap between the official and parallel market rates remains under close watch by investors and businesses. Analysts say the relative stability is being supported by steady interventions and improved foreign exchange inflows, although demand for dollars for travel, school fees and import payments continues to put pressure on the local currency.

As of 6:45am WAT, traders remained cautious as they monitored end-of-week closing rates to assess the naira’s direction heading into the middle of the month.
