Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, June 20, 2026

The naira continued to trade against the United States dollar in the parallel market on Friday, June 19, 2026, with exchange rates reflecting ongoing pressure in the foreign exchange market.

At the Lagos parallel market, also known as the black market, Bureau De Change (BDC) operators reported that the dollar was sold at ₦1406 and bought at ₦1396.

This means individuals looking to exchange dollars for naira at the informal market are transacting within that range, according to market sources.

It is important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not officially recognise the parallel market and has advised individuals to carry out foreign exchange transactions through licensed financial institutions.

In the official market, the naira traded at a lower range compared to the black market. The CBN rates showed the highest exchange level at ₦1374 and the lowest at ₦1365 against the dollar.

The difference between both markets continues to highlight the persistent gap between official and informal forex trading channels in Nigeria.
