Returning students of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, are expected back on campus on Monday, October 12, as the institution begins its 2026/2027 academic session.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying the management was working to ensure students complete their programmes on schedule.
The institution started its maiden academic session on January 5, 2026, and wrapped it up in August.
Aribisala expressed satisfaction with the completion of the first session and confirmed that new students would join their returning colleagues later in November.
“I am happy to inform you that the university completed the first academic session (2025/2026) this month, while the 2026/2027 academic session will begin on October 12, 2026.
“While returning students are to resume on Monday, October 12, 2026, fresh students will resume on Monday, November 2nd, 2026,” he said.
He explained that the university would continue to organise its academic activities to ensure lectures, examinations and the release of results take place according to schedule.
“The university is committed to ensuring that students progress through their programmes without unnecessary disruption or delay.
“The university will continue to maintain a stable academic calendar, ensuring that academic activities, examinations, results processing and other academic processes are properly coordinated to support the timely completion of students’ programmes.
“The university management remains focused on consolidating the gains of the maiden session, strengthening academic delivery and creating a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research,” he said.
While returning students are due back on October 12, newly admitted students are scheduled to resume on November 2.
