The Federal Ministry of Education has announced admissions into Federal Unity Colleges nationwide through a fully automated system.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, explained that the new process was introduced to improve transparency, efficiency, and capacity management in secondary school placements.
Folasade noted that the reform, driven by the Education Minister, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, is designed to ensure admissions strictly align with each school’s approved capacity while resolving the problem of overcrowding in the colleges.
”The initiative, driven by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, ensures that all admissions are now fully automated and strictly conducted within the approved capacity of each school, eliminating previous challenges of overstretched facilities.”
The statement quoted Alausa saying the “reform guarantees fairness, operational efficiency, and sustained quality in our Federal Unity Colleges.”
The current admission cycle covers 80 conventional Federal Unity Colleges for Junior Secondary School one. Admissions for the 42 Federal Technical Colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training programme will be announced later.
Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadri, described the automation as a “game-changer,” noting it streamlines the process, enhances accountability, and fosters better learning environments by matching admissions to school capacities.
“The new system ensures that admission aligns with each school’s capacity, creating a better learning environment for students.
“This reform is expected to streamline the admission process, improve accountability, and uphold the highest educational standards across Federal Unity Colleges nationwide,” she said.
The statement added that parents and students can check results on the ministry’s official website.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality education in safe, conducive environments for all Nigerian children.
