Three Lagos universities set for resumption as ASUU suspends strike

Academic activities are expected to resume immediately at Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) following the suspension of the lecturers’ strike.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) announced the decision on Friday after negotiations concerning staff welfare and the implementation of pending agreements, offering relief to students and parents affected by the disruption.

In a joint statement, the union leaders described the development as a significant step towards improving lecturers’ welfare and ensuring that previously reached agreements are honoured.

The statement was signed by Olusegun Babalola, Coordinator of the ASUU-LASU Steering Committee; Grace Abimbola, Acting Chairperson of ASUU-LASUED; and Murisiku Onigemo, Chairman of ASUU-LASUTECH.
