2026 BON Awards: Enugu picked as host city for November ceremony

Enugu State has been selected as the venue for the 2026 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, with the ceremony expected to take place in November.

The hosting arrangement was secured by Governor Peter Mbah following discussions with the organisers of the annual entertainment event.

BON Awards founder, Seun Oloketuyi, disclosed the development on Instagram after visiting the state with members of the awards team.

The delegation included executive producer Feranmi Olaoye, Tomi Falade, actor Enyinna Nwigwe and Olukizzy Michael.

Oloketuyi said the governor had committed to delivering a world-class event when he formally received the hosting rights for the 2026 edition.

“Yesterday evening, I lead a team comprising of BON Executive Producer @feranmiolaoye @Onaolatomirin together with Actor @a_yinna, @olukizzymichael. To give the hosting rights of 2026 BON Awards to The Enugu Governor @pnmbah who promised to host a world class event in November,” he wrote.

The announcement comes after the organisers revealed the personalities selected for special recognition at this year’s ceremony.

Among those named in July were veteran actor Pete Edochie, actresses Ruth Kadiri and Peju Ogunmola, alongside Steve Sodiya.

According to the awards committee, the four honourees were recognised for their contributions to different aspects of Nollywood.

“The organisers of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards have pulled back the curtain on this year’s special honourees, naming veteran and leading industry figures Chief Pete Edochie, Ruth Kadiri, Peju Ogunmola, and Steve Sodiya as the recipients of its prestigious Special Recognition Awards,” the statement read in part.
