Temi Kosoko, daughter of veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko, has stated that divorce among actors is often exaggerated because of the public attention surrounding celebrities, stressing that separation is a common reality in society.
Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, the actress explained that celebrity marriages attract heavier scrutiny compared to those of ordinary people.
“Divorce happens every month worldwide. It’s not a new thing that people get divorced,” she said. “The problem is that when actors divorce, it becomes popular and very public.”
Temi noted that marriages can fail for many different reasons and said such issues are not always connected to the entertainment industry.
“There are so many reasons people divorce. It might not even have anything to do with their work,” she added.
The actress also spoke about the challenges she faces regarding public perception, saying she often feels that her efforts are overlooked because of her famous family background.
“I work hard, and sometimes it just hurts that people don’t see my hard work. They say it’s because of my father’s name. Yes, to be honest, it is my father’s name that has brought me this far,” she said.
She further explained that assumptions about her family’s attitude have affected how people relate to her in the industry.
“A lot of people think we are proud. When we enter a room, even without speaking, they already assume we are proud. That was the beginning of the problem,” she added.
