The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail of ₦30 million to Doris Ogala, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State election, over allegations of cyberstalking and other offences linked to Pastor Chris Okafor.
Justice Akintayo Aluko granted the bail on Friday, November 6, 2026, with the actress required to provide two sureties, each of whom must enter into a bond of ₦30 million.
The court also directed Ogala to surrender her international passport to the court registrar.
Additionally, the judge barred the Nollywood actress from making online posts that could expose prosecution witnesses to harassment, threats or intimidation while the trial is ongoing.
Justice Aluko said the conditions were meant to protect two things. One is Ogala’s right to freedom as stated in the constitution. The other is the safety of witnesses and making sure she comes to court for her trial.
The judge said he was worried about Ogala’s conduct in court on October 28, 2026, when she was said to have caused commotion in the courtroom, forcing the court to adjourn 10 cases.
“By her misconduct and conduct in the open court, when she disrupted proceedings and caused a series of adjournments without any justification on the 28th of October, 2026, the defendant has exposed herself as a person capable of fomenting trouble when she is outside the courtroom,” the judge said.
