Autopsy result reveals cause of singer Destiny Boy’s death

An autopsy report has shed light on the circumstances surrounding the death of Afrofuji singer, Destiny Boy.

It will be recalled that the singer passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 22.

According to Daily Trust, the autopsy found harmful levels of tramadol and its metabolites in his system. It further revealed that his death was caused by pneumonitis resulting from the intake of toxic substances.

Meanwhile, Destiny Boy’s mother, Saida, has spoken publicly for the first time since his passing, stating that he suffered from a mysterious illness known as “Ogu Oru,” which reportedly caused seizures.

She explained that the family had been managing his condition with the help of traditional healers and clerics, adding that he had been scheduled to perform on the day he died.

Saida also dismissed claims linking her son to money rituals, describing such allegations as attempts to gain attention following his death.

In a related development, the singer’s sister addressed the controversy surrounding a viral audio in which their mother was heard speaking harshly to him before his death.

She clarified that the recording was taken out of context, stressing that their mother’s remarks were made out of concern and not hostility.
