Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy and Colombian music star Shakira have achieved a major milestone with their collaborative hit, “Dai Dai”.
The official music video has surpassed one billion views on Shakira’s YouTube channel, becoming the first song released in 2026 to reach the landmark.
Released on May 23, 2026, “Dai Dai” was selected as the Official Song of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The music video has now recorded more than 1,000,951,637 views and 7.8 million likes.
The track combines Shakira’s Latin-pop style with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats sound and enjoyed significant global attention throughout the World Cup.
The pair also took the song to the global stage, performing it during the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City and at the final halftime show.
“Dai Dai” features on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album, alongside songs from Nigerian stars Davido, Ayra Starr and Rema.
Royalties generated from the song will be channelled towards the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The latest achievement further strengthens Burna Boy’s international standing and underscores the growing global influence of Nigerian Afrobeats.
For Shakira, the feat represents another major YouTube milestone, making “Dai Dai” her 10th music video to surpass one billion views on the platform.
