Davido to be inducted into Black Music Walk of Fame in Atlanta

Afrobeats star Davido has been selected as one of the inductees for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

The organisers made the announcement in an Instagram post on Thursday ahead of the induction ceremony scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside.

“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honouring Legacy,” the statement read.

The organisers commended the award-winning singer for his contributions to music, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship on the global stage.

“Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage. Known for his infectious hits, dynamic performances, and cross-cultural collaborations, he has built a sound that transcends borders while staying rooted in his heritage.

“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the organisers added.

The honour places Davido among notable entertainment personalities recognised for their contributions to Black culture and global music.

Other inductees for the 2026 class include Ludacris, gospel singer Paul Morton, and former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson.

The induction ceremony will take place on June 1, 2026, along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive outside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame was established by the Black American Music Association and the Georgia Entertainment Caucus to celebrate individuals who have significantly influenced Black music and entertainment worldwide.

Inductees are honoured with plaques placed along the Atlanta walkway in recognition of their impact on Black culture and the entertainment industry.
