Lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, has been spotted on a movie set days after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Photos circulating on social media showed the three-term lawmaker alongside Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta at what appeared to be a film location. The pair were seen standing together and engaged in conversation during production.

The images quickly attracted attention online, with many social media users expressing excitement at seeing Elliot back in a familiar entertainment environment after years of focusing on politics.

His appearance on the set comes shortly after he was defeated in the APC primary for the Surulere Constituency I seat.

Elliot lost the party’s ticket to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who secured the majority of votes in the primary election.

Before venturing into politics, Elliot established himself as one of Nollywood’s most recognisable actors, featuring in numerous films and television productions over the years.

His successful acting career made him a household name before he transitioned into public service, where he has represented Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly for three consecutive terms.

The recent movie set appearance has fuelled speculation that the actor-turned-politician could be returning to Nollywood following his loss in the APC primary.

However, Elliot has not publicly confirmed whether he intends to resume acting full-time or if his appearance was for a one-off project.
