Veteran actress Bukky Wright has challenged the common perception that women who expect financial support in relationships are gold diggers.
In a recent interview discussing relationships, money, and the roles of men and women, Wright maintained that it is a man’s duty to provide for and adequately care for his partner.
She also emphasized that a woman should be someone a man is proud to have by his side.
Wright maintained that no woman should settle for less, and advised men who can’t meet relationship responsibilities to either stay within their budget or avoid dating until they are capable.
“I hate it when I hear men calling women gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig? I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold. If you cannot afford a woman, don’t go for it; go for the one you can afford,” she said.
