E-Money warns against spraying of Naira following EFCC arrest

Businessman E-Money has encouraged Nigerians to respect the naira and refrain from spraying it at parties or events, citing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) warning against currency abuse.

He suggested that instead, the celebrants could put gifts in a box, bowl, or basket in front of the individual who is being celebrated.

On Instagram, E-Money underlined that breaking the law will no longer be an excuse, urging users to party sensibly and stay out of trouble.

He wrote: “Attention! The EFCC reminds us that spraying Naira (or any currency) at parties or events is against the law! Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid fines. Respect our currency!

“If you must give money at a party, make sure you put it in a basket, bowl, or box in front of the person at the party. Don’t drop any currency on the floor. The EFCC advises against this. Ignorance is not going to be an excuse. Let us be aware and abide by the rules since it’s the law of the land”.

This call comes after his own recent experience with the EFCC, where he was arrested for alleged Naira abuse and dollar spraying at an event.
