Eniola Badmus calls for peace in Nollywood following altercation with Laide Bakare

Actress Eniola Badmus has spoken out after a viral argument with fellow actress Laide Bakare at a recent movie premiere, encouraging her colleagues in the Nollywood business to promote peace and harmony.

In a passionate Instagram post, Badmus urged industry players to rise above jealously and strife, emphasising that everyone has ample room to flourish.

“There’s no need for envy—one person’s success does not take away from another’s,” she wrote.

The actress encouraged collaboration, mutual respect, and support among colleagues, noting that when artists lift one another, they all rise higher together.

She further advised that avoiding conflict should not be seen as a sign of weakness but of wisdom. “Peace is the path to progress, and love should always be our guiding light,” she added.

Badmus wrote: “Life has a way of teaching us that true strength lies not in conflict, but in unity. Though we may have walked different paths and faced moments of tension, I believe it’s time to let love lead.

“There is no need for jealousy when we can all succeed. Your success doesn’t diminish mine, just as mine does not take away from yours. Let us continue to collaborate, to lift each other, and to build something greater than what we could ever achieve alone. There’s strength in unity and a future brighter than any victory we’ve pursued alone.

“Let us avoid conflict, not because we are weak, but because we are wise. Peace is the path to progress, and love is the light that shows us the way.”
