Funke Akindele shares moment as Gov Sanwo-Olu watches ‘Behind The Scenes’

Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has expressed deep appreciation after Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, viewed her film “Behind the Scenes”, describing the moment as deeply humbling.

The movie, co-directed by Akindele and Tunde Olaoye, has surpassed ₦2 billion in box office revenue, ranking it among Nollywood’s highest-grossing productions.

Starring Scarlet Gomez, the film tells the story of a kind-hearted real estate tycoon whose generosity puts pressure on family relationships and sparks deep personal reflection.

Akindele said she felt fulfilled knowing the film’s message resonated strongly with audiences.

She appreciated the governor for his time and thoughtful feedback, while also urging movie lovers to see the film, which is still showing in cinemas across Nigeria, the UK, the USA, and Canada.

She wrote,
