Hollywood actor, James Ransone commits suicide

The US actor widely recognised for his performances in ‘It: Chapter Two’ and ‘The Wire’, James Ransone, has died at the age of 46.

TMZ reported that official records from the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office ruled his death as suicide.

The Los Angeles Police Department disclosed that officers responded to a call at a residence last Friday, where a death investigation report was completed.

Authorities stated that there was no indication of foul play and recorded the manner of death as suicide by hanging.

Ransone’s acting career lasted over two decades, featuring notable roles across television and film. He began with minor appearances in the early 2000s, including roles in the TV series ‘Ed’ and ‘Third Watch’.

He gained widespread acclaim for portraying the troubled dockworker Ziggy in the second season of HBO’s ‘The Wire’, a role that stands out as one of the show’s most memorable performances.

The actor also featured in productions such as ‘Generation Kill’, ‘Bosch’, and the horror hit ‘It: Chapter Two’, where he played the adult version of Eddie Kaspbrak.

His additional film credits include ‘Sinister’, ‘Tangerine’, ‘The Black Phone’, and its recent sequel.

Ransone is survived by his wife and two children.
