Nollywood actress Sandra Okunzuwa has spoken about the emotional and personal difficulties actors face while filming romantic scenes, revealing that kissing roles once led to the end of her relationship.
Speaking during a recent interview on the BTS Reality Show, she said many people wrongly believe actors enjoy intimate scenes, whereas the reality is often uncomfortable and emotionally exhausting.
“If you have twenty people watching you while kissing in the movie, it is impossible to enjoy it. We do not enjoy it, we do not get in the mood.
“If it is something we can scrap out completely and still make viewers enjoy it, I would be happy with it,” she said.
She explained that such roles can negatively affect romantic relationships, especially when partners struggle to distinguish between acting and real life.
“These things affect our personal relationships. For instance, I had to leave a relationship because of this,” she revealed.
According to her, her former boyfriend became upset after seeing a video clip of her kissing another actor on a movie set.
“He called me and told me that he was just sent a video of my kissing this actor on set. It is hard; it is not easy.
“I do not blame people who say they cannot date actresses because it is not everyone who can take certain things,” she added.
