I lost 100% of my business after criticising Nigerian pastors – Daddy Freeze

Controversial media personality, Daddy Freeze, has disclosed that his business ventures completely collapsed after he began criticizing Nigerian pastors.

In an interview on the Leadership podcast with Stephen Akintayo, Freeze recounted how his once-thriving career as a master of ceremonies (MC) took a nosedive.

“When I came after Nigerian pastors, I lost 100% of my business at the initial stage. It got so bad that after like two years, I used to MC because my rate were high, I used to charge N1.5m when dollar was N150. I used to get one in two in a months,” he said.

Freeze revealed that at his peak, he earned about N1.5 million per event, which was equivalent to $10,000 when the exchange rate was N150 to a dollar, translating to approximately $60,000 annually.

However, after his controversial stance, bookings disappeared, and he has not worked as an MC since 2019.

He shared that occasional gigs came his way, but backlash often followed. Recalling one instance, he said, “I had one or two gigs here and there but the one they agreed to pay, they paid me upfront then the flier came out and everybody said they were not going to attend.”

Freeze noted that despite receiving an upfront payment for that gig, the event’s organizer eventually canceled due to public backlash, allowing him to keep the money.
