Show promoter Sam Larry has responded to allegations linking him to the events preceding the death of singer Mohbad.
During a recent interview with social media activist Verydarkman, Sam Larry spoke about a widely circulated video that shows him confronting Mohbad at a beach.
The footage, which triggered public outcry, was viewed by many as potential evidence of harassment.
Sam Larry insisted the encounter was misunderstood, stating that he had approached Mohbad to request a refund for a show the artist allegedly missed.
“That video was just 9 seconds. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded my money for a show he didn’t show up for. Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve it. There was no assault, I’ve never touched Mohbad all my life,” he said.
He also responded to speculation about his location at the time of Mohbad’s death, asserting that he was in Dubai, while his associate, Naira Marley, was in Amsterdam.
Despite his explanation, questions remain—particularly about Zlatan Ibile’s continued silence on the matter.
Sam Larry suggested that Zlatan had been advised not to comment, quoting him in pidgin: “Zlatan say if hin talk, say blood go comot for hin mouth.”
