Actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has revealed that she was never under pressure to get married and did not dream about marriage before meeting her husband.
Speaking in an interview with Ifedayo Agoro, Kadiri said marriage was not a priority for her while growing up.
She added that she always had confidence in herself and believed that anyone who eventually married her would be fortunate to have her.
“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch and anyone that was going to marry me was going to be lucky,” she said.
Kadiri revealed she met her husband at work when he approached her to start a conversation.
She said she was not initially interested but later engaged him in talks about business, importation, and Vietnam.
She added that she felt God told her he was her future husband as she was about to leave.
Two days later she blocked him, but he made efforts to find her again.
“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband. Two days later, I blocked him, but he went the extra mile to find me. Months later, he proposed to me and I accepted,” she added.
