TikTok influencer Tunmise has alleged that his former girlfriend, Ivana, travelled to Calabar to reunite with her ex-boyfriend despite what he described as his financial and emotional efforts to keep their relationship intact.
The claims were made in a video response after Ivana accused him of infidelity, verbal abuse and domestic violence. Tunmise denied the allegations, maintaining that he did everything possible to make the relationship work.
“Ivana went to see her ex in Calabar, the same ex she painted the worst to me. I was trying to do better than her ex. Someone I was trying to do better than, that was the person you went back to,” he said.
According to Tunmise, although they appeared happy on social media, the relationship was plagued by unresolved issues behind the scenes.
He alleged that he provided financial support for Ivana and several members of her family throughout their time together.
Tunmise further claimed that after they decided to reconcile, Ivana suggested they stay together in a hotel to rebuild their relationship. He said he paid ₦150,000 per day for the accommodation, where they reportedly stayed for about three weeks.
He also claimed he frequently took her shopping and covered other expenses in an effort to make her happy.
Narrating what he described as the turning point in their relationship, Tunmise alleged that Ivana later told him she had been invited to an event in Calabar and that her flight had already been booked.
He said he personally drove her to the airport before later discovering that she had allegedly travelled to meet her former boyfriend.
According to him, he became aware of the alleged reunion after receiving messages, photographs and videos from a woman he identified as the current girlfriend of Ivana’s ex-boyfriend.
Despite the incident, Tunmise said he chose to forgive her because her birthday was only a few weeks away.
“I forgive Ivana and left the whole thing,” he added.
Addressing allegations that he verbally abused Ivana, Tunmise admitted calling her offensive names but claimed the remarks occurred during repeated arguments over what he described as recurring infections they were both treating.
He alleged that the situation became emotionally exhausting and eventually resulted in frequent confrontations.
“We treat infection, treat infection, infection no gree go,” he said.
