British actor Idris Elba has officially been knighted by King Charles III in recognition of his extensive charitable contributions aimed at supporting young people.
The Hollywood star was named in the King’s New Year Honours List in December 2025, while the formal investiture ceremony took place on Tuesday at Windsor Castle, where he received the title of Sir Idris Elba.

In a post on Instagram, the Royal Family congratulated the latest recipients of the honours and highlighted their achievements.
Elba also marked the occasion by sharing a playful video of himself holding an Arsenal shirt bearing the inscription: “Sir Elba.”
“Congratulations to everyone who received honours at today’s Investiture ceremonies, hosted by The King at Windsor Castle,” the Royal Family wrote.
