Singer Ayra Starr has shared her views on financial disparity in relationships, saying she believes she would become controlling if she dated a man she was richer than.
Speaking on an episode of the Wahala podcast, the ‘Bloody Samaritan’ hitmaker said she would still expect her partner to provide for her even if she earns more than him.
She added that she would keep her financial status private and would not let him know that she is wealthier.
“If I date a man who I am richer than, I will control him. But even if I am richer, he will still be providing, and I won’t let him know I have a lot of money,” she said.
Ayra Starr’s comments have generated mixed reactions, with some agreeing with her position that “it is a man’s job to provide,” while others criticised her for intending to hide her financial status from a future partner who may earn less than her.
