King Mitchy’s ‘ex-cameraman’ accuses her of staging fake charity giveaways

A man who claims to be the former cameraman of social media influencer King Mitchy has alleged that she staged fake giveaways during charity outreach events.

In a video that has gained traction on X, formerly known as Twitter, the man said he worked closely with the influencer until he began questioning her conduct, a move he claimed resulted in his dismissal.

He alleged that while King Mitchy projected generosity in front of the camera, the situation behind the scenes was entirely different.

In his words, he said:

“On camera, she would announce giveaways of ₦300,000, ₦500,000, and even ₦1,000,000. But once the cameras were off, she would collect the money back and give the recipients only ₦20,000.”

The former cameraman further stated that he confronted her over the alleged practice but was taken aback by her response.

“She said if I give away all that money, how would I pay you, and what money would I use to feed my family” he added.

The claims have triggered widespread reactions online. While some Nigerians condemned the alleged actions and called for greater transparency in charitable activities, others urged caution, insisting that such accusations must be backed by verifiable evidence.

The controversy comes amid King Mitchy’s ongoing online dispute with social media activist VeryDarkMan.

The rift began after she criticised him for allegedly retaining non-governmental organisation donations in his account without visible projects or accountability.

In response to the criticism, King Mitchy maintained that she renovated a public school within six days with the support of Seyi Tinubu, challenging him to surpass her efforts in charitable work.

However, VeryDarkMan rejected her remarks, accusing her of launching unfounded attacks and acting as a political tool in pursuit of personal interests.
