Nigeria is better than before despite ongoing challenges — 2baba

Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has said that despite economic and security difficulties, Nigeria is in a better state than it was in the past.

The 50-year-old artiste shared his views during a recent interview on ‘Chookmouth’ on Wazobia FM with media personality Yaw.

During the discussion, the host referenced his socially conscious track ‘E Be Like Say,’ noting that the issues he addressed years ago still reflect the country’s current political climate.

Responding, the music veteran insisted that the country has recorded gradual progress over time, stating that “we are better off than so many years ago, if you look at it”.

2Baba also spoke about his dedication to Nigeria, expressing his resolve to continue “pushing himself” to make a positive impact and represent the country proudly on any platform.

Although he did not go into details, he confirmed that he had previously supported a political campaign but has since stepped away from such involvement.

“I campaigned a while ago; I don’t think I want to go into that anymore,” he said.

He further reinforced his message by briefly performing a line from one of his songs, linking his earlier music to present-day leadership realities and national struggles.

The singer is married to Natasha Osawuru. The couple tied the knot in Abuja in 2025 after his separation from Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
