Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has stirred reactions online after sharing his views on how women should respond to infidelity in relationships and marriage.
The actor made the remarks during a podcast interview with media personality Ifedayo Agoro, where he advised women not to focus only on themselves when their partners cheat but instead try to help them change.
“When your man cheats on you, the first thing you should do is try to find ways to help him come out of that problem and make him stop cheating on you. Don’t be self-seeking about it,” he said.
Daniel explained that cheating should be treated as a problem that requires attention and resolution rather than being addressed only from an emotional perspective.
The actor, who has been married to entrepreneur Toyosi Etim-Effiong since 2017 and shares three children with her, also encouraged women to prioritise communication and understanding in building stronger relationships and marriages.
His comments have continued to spark debate online, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on infidelity, marriage, and relationship expectations.
One social media user wrote, “So women are now therapists for cheating men too?” while another commented, “Communication is important in relationships, but cheating is still a choice.”
