Actress Angela Okorie has come to the defence of controversial singer Naira Marley, describing him as a “sweet soul.”
Angela recounted how Naira Marley pleasantly surprised her during one of her birthdays by generously giving her money and offering heartfelt encouragement—support she said she hadn’t received from anyone else in the industry.
Reflecting on her interactions with the singer, Angela described him as a quiet and non-confrontational individual who rarely speaks or engages in conflict.
She added that after he attended her birthday celebration, she personally visited him to express her gratitude. Following that, they worked on a song together, which Naira Marley went on to promote on his own platform.
She wrote on Instagram, “One of my birthdays, about the last three or four years ago, Naira Marley surprised me. He gave me lots of money. I was shocked. The encouragement he gave to me, nobody has ever given it to me in this demonic industry where you and I know people just envy you for nothing, for being yourself, for being bold, for talking and working so hard. People are just going to envy you”.
