Nollywood actress denies accepting dispatch rider proposal

Actress Sarah Martins has addressed her recent exchange with a dispatch rider who publicly declared his interest in her.

In a post on Instagram, the actress explained that she did not accept the rider’s romantic proposal, noting that her reaction was simply a kind gesture meant to reassure him of his worth.

She emphasized that she upholds firm personal standards in relationships and would not compromise them for anyone.

Describing herself as a woman guided by principles who values respect, loyalty, and submission in a partner, Martins stated that her action should not be interpreted as agreement to a relationship.

She wrote, “Let it be known that I don’t say yes to a dispatch rider. I only extended my hand in love for humanity towards him to remind him that he’s worthy of love regardless of his current status. I am not the type that dates low, and I can’t fix any man to fit into my standards, ‘hell to the no’.”

Reiterating her stance, she added, “I am a principled woman, and I believe in respect, submission, and loyalty, and a man can only earn those qualities when he’s a provider. Please stop spreading wrong narratives. I am single and currently not searching.

“To Whom It May Concern, please don’t spread wrong narratives. I didn’t say yes to any dispatch rider. May God bless him enough to stand on his feet as a man before talking about love, because love comes with responsibilities! I genuinely wish him well, but I’m definitely not for him.

“Ndi Facebook shouting, Sarah is finally getting married, bikonu. I’m not desperate for marriage; as a matter of fact, I’m not interested in marriage. Y’all should let me breathe.”

Her clarification followed claims by the rider that he lost his job after professing his feelings for her. Martins shared chat messages indicating that he was cautioned rather than dismissed, stating that her intention was to correct what she described as disrespectful conduct, not to cause him harm.
