Nollywood actress Atinuke Remilekun Kareem, popularly known as Atinuke Kareem, has passed away.
The actress reportedly died following a prolonged battle with breast cancer.
The death was announced on Tuesday afternoon by Owolabi Ajasa, Chairman of the Ogun State chapter of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
Owolabi in a statement shared on his Instagram page, wrote, “We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed financially, offered prayers, encouragement, and support towards the treatment of our dear colleague, ATINUKE REMILEKUN KAREEM.
“Sadly, despite all our efforts and prayers, Atinuke has passed on and answered the final call.
“We cannot question the Almighty God. We can only submit to His will and pray that He grants her eternal rest and gives her family, colleagues, and loved ones the strength to bear this painful lost.”
Atinuke died four months after soliciting financial help from the public.
NewsClick Nigeria reports that Kareem’s passing comes at a time the entertainment industry is still in mourning mood over the death of versatile actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly called Ogogo.
Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer. He was buried the following day in his hometown, Ilaro, in accordance with Islamic rites.
