Ex-Nollywood star Grace Bassey has revealed that she is engaged to her partner, marking a new milestone in her personal life.

The announcement was made in a Facebook post on Tuesday, where she shared photos of herself with her fiancé. Although she did not disclose his identity, she displayed her engagement ring in the pictures.

Announcing the engagement, she wrote, “Answered prayers. Age is just a number. Found someone worth calling life with, beyond blessed.”

In another post, she added, “It feels like a dream but when true love finds you, you melt.”

Bassey’s engagement comes as she continues a new chapter in life after leaving Nollywood in 2025 to pursue a career in the United States military.

She enlisted in the United States Navy in May 2025, completed boot camp, and later became a US citizen after taking the oath of allegiance.

The former actress also dedicated the milestone to her late father, Asido Bassey Effah, a retired naval commander.

She had previously explained that she left the film industry because she no longer felt fulfilled in acting, adding that joining the US Navy had always been a long-held dream inspired by her upbringing in a military family and education at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt.

Grace Bassey began her acting career in the 2005 television series Shallow Waters and later featured in the reality show Next Movie Star.

During her career, she won several awards, including the Most Promising Actor of the Year at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

In 2021, she changed her name from Belinda to Grace-Charis following what she described as a divine experience, saying the decision was influenced by the meaning of her former name.
