Barely five days after controversial singer Portable was remanded in prison over a nine-count criminal charge, his first wife, Omobewaji, has given birth to a baby.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State, where the presiding judge refused to grant him bail, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted by the singer.
Following the ruling, the court ordered that Portable be remanded in custody, with the hearing of his bail application adjourned until January 19, 2026.
Meanwhile, Omobewaji welcomed a newborn baby while the singer remains behind bars.
Sources disclosed that Portable has been informed of the birth of his child while in prison and reportedly received the news with excitement. It was further claimed that he is eagerly awaiting his bail hearing so he can meet his baby for the first time.
Portable reportedly ran into legal trouble following a dispute involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
