Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, has received her first international certification for her hit single “Duduke.”
The track was recently certified Gold in New Zealand after surpassing 15,000 unit sales, marking Simi’s debut global recognition.
Released in 2022, “Duduke” captures the rhythmic heartbeat of the singer for her unborn child, with Simi proudly showcasing her baby bump in the music video.
She also initiated the popular “Duduke Challenge,” encouraging fans to share their creative renditions of the song.
Simi revealed in an interview that some people were calling her daughter, Adejare, “Duduke” because she inspired the popular song.
She explained that referring to her daughter as “Duduke” isn’t offensive, however, she prefers they call her by her name.
