Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother as she embarks on an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most makeovers done within 24 hours.
The record attempt, which kicked off on Friday at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos, is one of the highlights of her three-day Tacha Beauty Festival, running from 10 to 12 October 2025.
Before beginning the challenge, Tacha took a moment to honour her mother’s memory. A large banner displayed at the venue read: “Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me.”
In an emotional scene, the reality star was seen kneeling before the banner, appearing to offer prayers and reflect on her mother’s influence before commencing the event.
Speaking about the record attempt, Tacha said her aim is to complete 150 makeovers in 24 hours — a feat that she believes will celebrate creativity, perseverance, and the strength of Nigeria’s beauty industry.
The temporary makeup studio has been fully prepared for the challenge, which will run through the night and conclude on Sunday. Once completed, the results will be submitted to Guinness World Records for official confirmation.
Tacha, who rose to fame after her appearance on Big Brother Naija: Pepper Dem in 2019, has since built a strong brand as an influencer, entrepreneur, and media personality.
Several celebrities, including Broda Shaggi, Dabota Lawson, Liquorose, Soma Anyama, and chef Hilda Baci, were present to show their support for her ambitious attempt.
The makeover marathon continues as Tacha seeks to set a new global record while dedicating her effort to the memory of her beloved mother.
