TikTok motherhood content creator Monique Pearls dies at 30

Nigerian content creator Monica Oma Owunaka, popularly known as Monique Pearls, has died at the age of 30.

The announcement was confirmed by her family in a statement shared on Instagram. The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.

In the tribute, the family described Monique as a loving and kind-hearted person whose presence touched many lives. They said she brought joy and warmth to people around her and would be greatly missed.

“From the Family of Monica Oma Owunaka. It is with deep pain and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, and friend, Monica Oma Owunaka,” the statement reads.

“Monica was a beautiful soul whose love, kindness, strength, and presence touched so many lives. She brought warmth, joy, and light to everyone around her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

“During this difficult time, we kindly ask for prayers, love, and strength for the family and everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss.

“Further details regarding burial arrangements will be communicated in due course. Gone too soon.”

A post shared on her husband’s Instagram page indicated that Monique died on May 21, 2025.

Monique gained popularity online through her food-related videos before later sharing content about her experiences as a nursing mother. She amassed more than 6.7 million likes on TikTok.
