TikTok removes 3.6million Nigerian Videos

TikTok has taken down over 3.6 million videos uploaded by Nigerian users in the first quarter of 2025 for breaching its community guidelines, according to the platform’s Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

This marks a 50% increase from the 2.4 million videos removed in the final quarter of 2024. The report shows that 98.4% of these videos were proactively detected, with 92.1% taken down within 24 hours of being posted.

Globally, TikTok removed more than 211 million videos during the same period, with 184 million identified by automated tools. The company also deleted 44.7 million spam comments and dismantled 129 covert influence accounts across West Africa.

TikTok reaffirmed its commitment to combating fake engagement and safeguarding the platform from malicious actors.
