President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, describing his passing as a significant loss to the Yoruba film industry, Nollywood and Nigeria’s creative sector.
In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended his condolences to the late actor’s family, colleagues and admirers.
Tinubu described Ogogo as a remarkable artiste whose decades of contribution played a major role in the development of Yoruba theatre and Nigerian cinema.
He praised the late actor’s distinctive style, screen presence, and commitment to promoting Yoruba culture.

Ogogo died on Sunday after battling stage-four cancer.
He was buried on Monday in Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites.
