Actress and filmmaker Uche Montana has recorded a major milestone as her latest film, Monica 2, surpassed 10 million views on YouTube within two days of its release.
The movie, which premiered on May 2, 2026, on Uche Montana TV, quickly gained traction, highlighting the growing influence of digital platforms in Nollywood film distribution.
It reached one million views within a few hours of release, climbed past four million shortly after, and hit six million before the end of the first day. By the second day, it had crossed the 10 million mark.
Montana acknowledged the achievement in a short message to her audience, attributing the success to divine grace and offering no further details.
“10M in 2 days. No explanation, just God”, she wrote.
Monica 2 continues the storyline from Monica, which also enjoyed strong online viewership earlier in 2026.
The sequel follows Montana’s character as she navigates emotional and domestic struggles, including a strained relationship with her mother, played by Blessing Onwukwe, and challenges in her romantic life with her on-screen partner, John Ekanem.
Viewers have praised the film for its emotional depth, relatable themes, and focus on family and personal boundaries.
Its performance reflects a wider trend of Nollywood productions attracting massive audiences on YouTube, similar to projects like Omoni Oboli’s Love in Every Word series, which has also recorded tens of millions of views across its episodes.
