Actor Yul Edochie has criticised the late Alex Ekubo for keeping details of his marriage away from the public, stating that celebrities should not conceal their personal lives because of what people may think.
Edochie made the remark while reacting to online discussions triggered by bloggers who shared photos and videos of Ekubo’s wife following his death.
The posts sparked backlash from some social media users, who accused the bloggers of intruding on the family’s privacy.
According to Edochie, hiding personal matters is unnecessary because public commentary is inevitable.
He stated that people will always talk regardless of one’s actions, and advised against making oneself small to avoid criticism.
He urged individuals to live freely and disregard online chatter.
“He shouldn’t have hidden anything from anyone. It wasn’t necessary. People must learn to stop worrying about what people say. No matter what you do in life people must talk.
“So leave them to talk. Leave blogs to blog. To be great in life you must never make yourself small for any one or any reason. Give them things to talk about while you ignore them and enjoy your life.” He says.
