Musician Seyi Sodimu has shed light on the different kinds of influence held by Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, popularly referred to as the Afrobeats Big 3.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the ‘What I Know’ podcast, Sodimu explained that Burna Boy dominates the stage through pure musical prowess, Wizkid carries a rare and distinctive influence, while Davido’s reach goes well beyond the confines of music.
According to him, Davido’s level of influence is so extensive that it could translate into political success, even at the governorship level, underscoring his impact outside entertainment.
“The [Afrobeats] Big 3, each one is doing it [music] for different reasons. Burna Boy has conquered the stage. And he is good. Wizkid is special. And Davido surpasses music.

“What do I mean by that? If Davido ran for governor today, he would win. But I don’t think Burna Boy could win as a governor,” he said.
Sodimu’s remarks align with an earlier projection by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, who once predicted that Davido would become the governor of Osun State in the future.
It is also worth noting that Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is the current governor of the state.
