Why God insisted I clean His house – Tonto Dikeh

Actress Tonto Dikeh has opened up about a deep spiritual encounter in which God instructed her to clean His house.

In an Instagram post, Dikeh said she was initially reluctant because she already had domestic workers and had long struggled with obsessive cleanliness habits, but she chose to obey the instruction.

According to her, God told her the task would usher her into His glory and bring about an inner cleansing in her life.

Since carrying out the assignment, Tonto said she has witnessed restoration, celebration and testimonies, with new opportunities emerging and unexpected help coming her way.

She wrote, “This is the first assignment God gave me: to clean his house. I smiled in obedience, never questioning His instruction. Yet, in my heart, I wondered, “Why cleaning, Lord?” Especially because I have multiple staff dedicated to maintaining/cleaning my home, because I personally struggled with obsessive tendencies (OCD) toward cleanliness.

“I even asked Him, “Can I not simply pay others to do this?” And He answered gently but powerfully: “No child, do it yourself. It is an assignment to launch you into my Glory so that I can cleanse your life from the inside out.”

“From that moment, I picked up my broom, my mop, and my buckets with joy and surrender. What seemed like a simple physical task became a spiritual transformation. Through obedience, God began a deeper work within me, purifying, restoring, and renewing my life.

“Today, I can boldly declare: God has been faithful. My life reflects His goodness (restoration, celebration, and unending testimonies). Doors that were once closed are now opening. Help comes even from strangers (2 Corinthians 9:8).

“There is not a day without evidence of His grace. Even before I pray, answers come.

“Now, I have reached a place where I no longer seek God merely for His blessings. He has already given me the greatest gift (life, breath, and Himself). My deepest desire is “more of him”

“My heart longs for deeper intimacy, to know Him, to love Him, and to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Truly, God is good, and His work in my life is undeniable.”
