Afrobeats star Rema, has revealed that he ended his last relationship because he found it emotionally draining and manipulative.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the singer said the relationship had its good moments but lacked the peace he desired.
Rema explained that the demands of his music career and public life already placed significant pressure on him, and he expected his home environment to offer comfort and relief. Instead, he said he encountered additional stress, making the relationship difficult to sustain.
Reflecting on the experience, the singer said the situation eventually pushed him to walk away and that he is not interested in pursuing another relationship at the moment.
“My romantic relationship was beautiful but a little quite manipulative. So much pressure. Knowing the world puts so much pressure on me but coming back home is where you want to feel relieved but when you come back home and you are getting more pressure, it’s a different story. For now, I’m done,” he said.
