Nigerian actress Angela Okorie has explained why she decided to burn the outfit she wore to the burial of Alexx Ekubo.
The actor was laid to rest last week in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State, after passing away on May 11 following a prolonged battle with stage 4 kidney cancer.
In a post on her Instagram Story, Angela revealed that her godmother advised her to destroy the dress by setting it on fire, noting that such clothing should not be kept after attending a burial. She also shared a video showing the outfit being burned.
“This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to keep the clothes you wore to a burial around you; you should burn them,” she wrote.
“So family and friends, take note. I felt I should share this information. May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen. Chaiii.”
