Afrobeats singer Made Kuti has disclosed he did not kneel while proposing to his wife, Inedoye Onyenso, explaining that he believes marriage should be a mutual decision rather than a one-sided gesture.
The 30-year-old shared the remark during a recent episode of the Timeless Podcast on the Nix Network YouTube channel.
He explained that he told his wife they were choosing to be together, not begging one another for the relationship.
“I did not go down on my knees when proposing to my wife because I told her it was a mutual decision. We are not begging each other to be with each other,” he said.
Made Kuti and Inedoye Onyenso tied the knot in a private ceremony held in Lagos in November 2023.
He also disclosed that she was once his junior in school.
