Why I kept my marriage to Baba Ijesha private — Abiodun Tokunbo

The wife of Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha, Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, has opened up on why she chose to keep her marriage away from public attention.

In an Instagram post, Tokunbo shared a photo chronicling her journey with her husband over the years, alongside a message expressing gratitude despite the challenges they have faced.

Tokunbo, chief executive officer of Anjy Luminee Couture, a Lagos-based fashion brand also known as House of Luminee, said privacy is important to her peace of mind.

She stressed the need for discretion in personal matters, adding, “This right time to fly together. Privacy is peace to me”.

“Before and After. Aanu Ni!,” she wrote.

“Oju ri! But Anu speaks.

“This right time to fly together. Privacy is peace to me.”

On Monday, Baba Ijesha, born Olanrewaju Omiyinka, announced the arrival of a baby boy with Tokunbo.

The actor also appreciated the fashion designer, whom he described as “my ever beautiful wife, strong Jagaban,” while introducing their son as “King Kagar Omiyinka”.

Tokunbo revealed that the baby is their first child together after 12 years, while referencing her daughter. However, it remains unclear whether the couple have been together for more than 12 years.

Tokunbo is from Ijesha Isu in Ekiti State and is the sixth daughter in a family of eight.

She attended Hosanna Africa Primary School for her primary education and Methodist Girls High School for secondary school.

She later earned a National Diploma in Banking and Finance from The Polytechnic Ibadan before obtaining a degree in Business Administration from Lagos State University.

Tokunbo launched her fashion brand in 2013 shortly after completing her final examinations at the university.
