Why my movie was removed from YouTube – Jim Iyke

Nollywood star Jim Iyke has responded to the removal of his film “Light in the Dark” from YouTube.

Before being removed, the film, which was first uploaded on March 18, had received over 600,000 views.

The actor/filmmaker recently disclosed on Instagram that YouTube had taken down the film because of a sequence that was judged indecent.

Iyke expressed gratitude for his team’s efforts, calling their diligence and commitment “inestimable.”

The actor stated that he is not deterred by the setback. He also encouraged viewers to watch and share the film, announcing that a new YouTube link is now accessible.

As of Wednesday night, the new link, which was published on March 31, had received fewer than 50,000 views.

“Hey everyone, The original version of our movie “LIGHT IN THE DARK” on JIMIYKE TV was taken down. They deemed one of the scenes inappropriate from feedback received. It has been challenging, to say the least,” he wrote.

“Over 600k views accumulated in a few days. The time, effort, and passion my team put into these projects is inestimable. But I’m not deterred. My energy has always stemmed from positivity and a winners mentality.

“A new version is up now, and I need as many people as possible to watch, share, and spread the word. If you supported the first one, or if you missed it—this is your chance to help keep the project alive.

“We’ve been down this road before. Your support and goodwill win the day eventually. I cannot thank you enough for everything. Every view, every share, and every comment makes a huge difference.”
