Why Ruger has been missing from music scene — Record label

The record label of Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has disclosed that his recent absence from the music scene was due to personal and legal challenges.

According to the label, the “Bounce” crooner stepped away from public attention while dealing with issues involving a former romantic partner.

The label alleged that the singer’s ex-girlfriend instituted legal action against him, accusing him of causing “emotional distress” and seeking damages.

In a statement explaining the situation, the label said the court case played a significant role in keeping Ruger away from music and public engagements in recent months.

The statement partly read: “Ruger was caught up in a series of personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged ’emotional distress,’ and ‘damages.”

The label noted that the legal dispute affected the artiste’s activities and contributed to his prolonged absence from the spotlight.

Despite the challenges, Ruger is reportedly preparing for a comeback, with the label revealing that he is expected to return to active music-making and reconnect with fans in August.

The announcement comes amid growing speculation from fans who have been seeking answers about the singer’s disappearance from the music scene and the delay in releasing new material.
