Wizkid sets record as first african artist to reach 9 billion streams on spotify

Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has crossed 9 billion streams on Spotify across all credited works.

Wizkid has become the first African artist to reach 9 billion streams on Spotify, marking a major milestone on the global music platform.

His most streamed track on the platform is One Dance, a collaboration with Canadian superstar Drake and British singer Kyla, which has garnered 3.7 billion streams. The hit song is one of Spotify’s top 10 most streamed songs of all time and holds a Guinness World Record as the first single to surpass 1 billion streams on the platform.

Wizkid’s highest-streamed solo track is the fan-favorite *Essence*, featuring Tems, with over 303 million streams.

Meanwhile, American pop icon Taylor Swift remains Spotify’s most streamed artist, with over 1.5 billion streams to her name.
