Afrobeat star, Davido, has criticised Iyabo Ojo’s partner and music promoter, Paulo Okoye, over his remarks on Afrobeat.
Paulo, while lamenting the high fees charged by top Nigerian Afrobeats singers, questioned whether the music genre was “dead or in coma.”
Responding to him, Nigerian Grammy-nominated singer and music executive, Bankulli, faulted Paulo’s statement and claimed that the music promoter made the remarks because he could not afford to book top artistes.
Supporting Bankulli’s claim, Davido took to the comments section to tag Paulo “broke.”
Davido wrote; “PAUL O AKA PAUL BROKE.”
This comes nearly two years after Paulo publicly defended Davido against criticism over his “Nigeria economy is in shambles” statement during an appearance on The Big Homies House podcast.
