The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027 and also selected Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, as the party’s consensus governorship candidate.
The decision was reached at a strategic caucus meeting held on Monday at the party’s state secretariat in the state capital.
In his acceptance speech, the governorship candidate thanked party leaders and stakeholders for their support and pledged not to betray the confidence placed in him.
The meeting, described as part of efforts to strengthen party unity, assess current political developments, and chart a forward-looking direction for the party in the state, was attended by Governor Dapo Abiodun and his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.
Also present were former governors of the state, Olusegun Osoba and Ibikunle Amosun, alongside former deputy governors.
Other attendees included the State Party Chairman, former state chairmen, serving and past party executives, members of the National Assembly, and principal officers of the State House of Assembly.
The gathering also brought together key party stakeholders including the Secretary to the State Government, women and youth leaders, representatives of persons living with disabilities, legal advisers, as well as former Speakers and Deputy Speakers.
In addition, members of the National and Zonal Executive Committees from the state, National Caucus members, and women representatives from the two senatorial districts were also in attendance.
